Gujar Khan
Gujar Khan is a tehsil of Rawalpindi District, 45 kilometres (28 miles) southeast of Islamabad. The population of the city and it's surroundings is approximately 71,000. Gujar Khan is famous for its natural reserves of oil.

HistoryGujar Khan is locally known as the "Heart of the Potohar Region". The city has history of thousands of years. Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi (October 2, 971–April 30, 1030) defeated Raja Jay Pal and built accommodation for his soldiers in this area. In 1767, a General Gujar Singh had ruled from Rawalpindi to Attock, and the city is named after him.

Nishan-i-HaiderTwo recipients of the Nishan-i-Haider of Pakistan belong to Gujar Khan. 1 Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed (First Nishan-i-Haider of Pakistan) (Born: 1910, Singhori Village, District of Rawalpindi, Commissioned: 1944, Punjab Regiment, July 27, 1948). 2 Jawan Sowar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed (Born: 1949, Dhok Pir Bakhsh (now Dhok Muhammad Hussain Janjua), Enlisted: 1966, Driver, December 10, 1971).

Natural ResourcesThere are two place at Gujar Khan from where Oil and Gas reserves have been discovered. 1. Ahdi Oil and Gas field It is about 30 KM from Gujar Khan City, situated near Daultala town Pakistan Petrolium Limited. (PPL)is producing oil and gas from this field. 2.Missa Kaswal Oil Field According to Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), huge oil and gas reserves have been discovered at Missa oil and gas field, ten kilometers from Gujar Khan. The sources said that the drilling at Well No 3 of the Missa Kaswal oil and gas field at Tobra led to the discovery. The field could produce 1,600 barrels of crude daily.
